How to Get Booked on Christian Podcasts (And What to Say When You're There)

Podcast appearances are one of the most powerful tools in a Christian author's ministry toolkit. Here's the pitch strategy that actually works — and how to show up with impact.

Christian podcasts are one of the most underutilized marketing tools available to faith-based authors.

They are intimate. They are trusted. And the audiences that listen to them are deeply engaged — they are not scrolling past your content. They are walking with it, driving with it, doing dishes with it.

A single podcast appearance can do more for your ministry than months of social media posts.

Here's how to approach it strategically.

Research before you pitch

Don't pitch every Christian podcast you can find. Find the ones whose audiences overlap with your readers. Listen to several episodes. Understand the host's style, their values, their audience.

Then craft a pitch that speaks directly to that audience. Not "I'd love to be on your show." But "I have a message about [specific topic] that I believe would deeply encourage your listeners who are [specific situation]."

Lead with service, not promotion

The best podcast guests are not the ones who talk about their books. They are the ones who give so much value, so much encouragement, so much practical wisdom that listeners go looking for their books on their own.

Show up to serve. The promotion will take care of itself.
